About Author
From a young age, Morgan was captivated by the power of storytelling and the written word. This love for literature led her to pursue a B.A. in journalism from the University of Arizona, where she honed her skills in crafting compelling narratives. Morgan gained a deep love for dogs after rescuing a husky mix from an accidental backyard litter – a dog she went on to name Balto. Fueled by her devotion to Balto and driven by a purpose to make a difference, Morgan found a burning passion for the world of animal rescue and welfare. Through her writing, Morgan aims to educate young minds on the importance of empathy and compassion toward animals, while treating them all with kindness and respect. Morgan’s greatest joy is being an adoring aunt to three little ones who share her love for reading and learning. They have become her ultimate inspiration, motivating her to create captivating stories that not only entertain but also impart valuable life lessons. As a devoted bookworm herself, Morgan understands the magic that stories can weave in young hearts and minds, and she aspires to ignite that same sense of wonder in her readers.

FAQ’s
Some of my earliest memories are of learning to read and enjoying children’s books. I have had a passion for storytelling and the written word with a dream of writing my own book for as long as I can remember. I never knew exactly what it would be about and had many different ideas over the years. In 2019, after rescuing my soul dog Balto, I had this very specific idea for a children’s book inspired by his real-life rescue story. Flash forward 4 years later, and “Balto’s Big Day Out,” is on its way to a bookstore near you!
Earlier this year, I was chatting with a loved one and shared my idea for the book. Impressed at my vision and passion for the project, this person urged me to see it through. A few days later I had the obvious realization that I’ll never publish a book if I don’t write one first! I put pen to paper (more like finger to keyboard) and by the end of the day, “Balto’s Big Day Out,” was no longer just a dream! To that person: thank you; you know who you are. This dream of mine may still be just a dream if not for your tough love and encouragement.
Yes! Once I had the initial manuscript complete, I knew I needed an expert to guide me through the process. I immediately thought of my dear family friend, Kevin Boerup, with 3 Knolls Publishing. I reached out to Kevin who expressed sincere enthusiasm for this project and agreed to take me on as an author of the firm. Kevin and his team have handled all the publishing logistics so I can focus on my true passion: storytelling. Thanks to 3 Knolls Publishing, “Balto’s Big Day Out” will be available to 40,000 independent and chain bookstores, libraries, and online retailers worldwide, including Apple, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Bertrams, Waterstones, Booktopia, and beyond soon!
“Balto’s Big Day Out” was written for children aged 2-5 but is truly a fun read for the whole family. The first in its series, this story is sure to leave paw prints on the hearts of generations to come!
My goal with this book is to teach young children about the importance of compassion and empathy towards animals, while highlighting the overpopulation crisis in animal shelters nationwide. Balto is the type of high-energy breed that could have very well ended up in the shelter, had our paths not crossed. As this will be a series, I plan to touch on topics like backyard breeding, owner surrendering, and the importance of spay/neuter but in a kid-friendly way as Balto goes to the vet and other situations.
